The Badminton Tournament

We can accommodate up to 84 participants (12 courts) for the singles and up to 230 players for the doubles (21 courts), so don’t be shy to register.

The tournament day
Friday :
We ask you to register at the tournament BEFORE 01.45 pm. Matches will be played in a round robin system, and start at 02.00 pm. The best of each group goes through to the final draw.
Saturday :
The day starts at 9.00 am with an effective & collective warm-up session with our fitness instructor. We’ll first play round robins (each team plays all other teams in a subgroup of 5-7 teams) to qualify for the finals – this way everybody gets to play a minimum number of matches (because that’s what we all come for: play!). The best teams from the round robins will go on to the finals in a knock-out system (you win, you continue; you lose, you’re out).
A medal ceremony is foreseen after the last finals are played, around 5.30 pm for singles and doubles. Afterwards we booked a swimming pool to ‘cool down & dress down’ along with the athletes of all the other sports.
- And don’t forget to book a ticket for the superb Saturday evening Brussels Games party, the yummy brunch on Sunday morning and the guided tour of Brussels (free, but reservation required) – for you and your friends.
Participants coming from abroad can apply for hosted housing. They will be offered private accommodation with a BGS member in or around Brussels – on a first come first served basis.
