The swimming competition
Come & plunge at the 2010 Brussels Games!
This year Swimming is part of the Brussels tournament. Both women and men can come and compete in a variety of different styles and age-categories.
- Swimmers may participate in maximum 3 individual events but in all relays in they wish so.
- Medals will be awarded to individuals and teams placed first, second and third in each age group and sex.
- Individual event age groups are in five year increments: 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; …
- Relay event age groups are as follows (combined ages): under 120; 120-159; 160-199; 200-239;...

The tournament day
The Olympic pool of Molenbeek opens for us at 13:30. The competition will finish around 18:30.
13:30: Pool opens/Warm-up begins
13:45: Welcome
14:00: Competition Starts
- 1st event: 50m Freestyle
- 2nd event: 100m Breaststroke
- 3rd event: 50m Butterfly
- 4th event: 100m Backstroke
- 5th event: 400m Freestyle
- 6th event: 4 x 50m Freestyle
16:00: Break
16:30: Competition Continues
- 7th event: 50m Backstroke
- 8th event: 100m Freestyle
- 9th event: 50m Breaststroke
- 10th event: 200m IM
- 11th event: 4 x 50m Medley
- 12th event: Fun Relay (Details to be announced the day of the competition)
18:30: End of competition + medal ceremony
- And don’t forget to book a ticket for the superb Saturday evening Brussels Games party (10 €), the yummy brunch on Sunday morning (20 €) and the guided gay tour of Brussels (free, but reservation required) – for you and your friends.
Participants coming from abroad can apply for hosted housing. They will be offered private accommodation with a BGS member in or around Brussels – on a first come first served basis.

- Register online here – for 29 €/person (only 25 € if you register AND pay before 11 July 2010) – registration is final upon receipt of payment – you can manage your registration or add additional tickets (party, brunch, tour) via this link
- This price includes participation in the sports-tournament, a welcome pack, a free guided gay tour of Brussels (reservation required). And hosted housing for participants from abroad.
- Check-in is required either at the Welcome Evening on Friday evening (10/9) OR BEFORE 13:30 at the tournament venue on Saturday (11/9). Participants that did not check-in before 13:30 on the tournament day cannot be guaranteed a place.
