The tennis tournament

We just wanted to inform you now that the rules published on the website were copied from last year and will not necessarily be followed this year. The rules and format will be decided at a later date and will depend largely on the number of players who register.

Thank you for your understanding.

Come & hit some balls, backhand, forehand, whatever hand at the 2010 Brussels Games!

The Brussels Games tennis tournament is growing bigger and better each year, so it's an occasion not to miss. There are 72 places, so do not hesitate to register numerously. What's more: register and pay before 11 July 2010 and get a4 € discount!

We'll be playing three levels of mixed doubles (with no distinction between men and women):

The tournament day

The tournament starts at 9am with a round robin (all teams from the subgroup play each other) to qualify for the finals - this way everybody gets to play a minimum of matches (because that's what we all come for: play!). The best teams from the round robin will go on to the finals in a knock-out system (you win, you continue, you loose, you're out).

After the finals (around 18:00) there will be a short prize-giving ceremony to award the winners, followed by a ‘cool down & dress down’ session at the swimming pool between 18:00 and 19:00 together with the athletes of the other sports.

Participants coming from abroad can apply for hosted housing. They will be offered private accommodation with a BGS member in or around Brussels – on a first come first served basis.
