We are currently looking for people who would like to host one or more athletes from Friday 6th til Sunday 8th September. This is the perfect opportunity to meet with athletes from all over Europe and show them the Belgian hospitality and the Brussels culture. In order to thank you, we would like to invite all hosts to the BGS party on Saturday 7 September. If you host participants, you will then receive a free entry to the party.
To accommodate the athletes, only a bed is needed with just a good dose of hospitality. In order to give them the necessary strength, do not forget breakfast on Saturday morning – before the tournament – and Sunday. And if you know a friend who has a second bedroom, an available bed or sofa, please forward them this information!
Fill in the online hosting form below to indicate the number of places that you can offer, as well as some elements of community life necessary for the good atmosphere between the host and the hosted. About two weeks before the tournament, we will put you in contact by email with the person or people you will be hosting. The ideal would be for you to meet at the welcome party on Friday 6 September.
For more information about the hosting of athletes, please contact Matthieu at lodging@bgs.org.
The Brussels Games are just around the corner, from 6-8 September and we are looking for dynamic and motivated volunteers to help us. If you have time in August or early September (just a few hours here and there), it would help us tremendously!
And in order to thank you, we will invite all volunteers to the BGS party on Saturday 7 September. You will receive your ticket at the entrance.
Opportunities to help are numerous and range from a few hours during the weekends prior to the tournament, to the evenings the week of, and peaking the days of the Brussels Games, especially during the party.
Position 1: Advertise the Brussels Games and the party during the weekends preceding the tournament: distributing flyers, putting up posters, etc..
Position 2: Prepare the Welcome Pack on Thursday 5 September.
Position 3: Prepare the room for the reception on Friday evening.
Position 4: Supporting the logistics for the tournament on Saturday throughout the day: provision of sporting facilities, check-in from the participants, distribution of bottled water and sandwich packs, dismantling the infrastructure, etc.
Position 5: To take part in one of the positions during the BGS party on Saturday 7 September:
The volunteers for the sporting events are invited to contact the coordinator of that event directly (for position 4). Their names and addresses are listed in the Contact section of this site.
To volunteer for other tasks, send an email to the address volunteers@bgs.org specifying which position you would like to help with, as well as the day and the time slot. You can of course choose several positions and several days and slots. When one loves, one does not count!
The coordinators will contact in due time.
