Badminton

As every year, we organize a badminton tournament in singles and doubles. You can play singles on Friday afternoon and doubles on Saturday all day. All levels are welcome to play! We can accommodate up to 84 participants for singles on 12 courts and 230 participants in doubles on 21 courts. So everyone start signing up!

Registration

Registrations are done individually according to everyone's level:

  • singles women and men A, B +, B-, C + and C-
  • doubles women and men A, B +, B-, C + and C- (no mixed doubles).

Categories can be modified according to the number of players.

You do not have a doubles’ partner? No problem! Individual players can also sign up for a surprise partner of the same level.

Please note: players who have won a gold or silver medal in the last two years are asked to sign up one category higher compared to the category in which they won their medal. Tournament organizers can fit your level if necessary.

Check-in

It is requested to each player of SINGLES to go the registration BEFORE 1:45 pm on Friday directly at the venue. The participants who did not sign up before 1:45 pm on the day of the tournament could be excluded from the tournament!

All OTHER players are requested to register at the Welcome Party on Friday evening, or eventually BEFORE 8:45 am on Saturday, directly at the venue. The participants who did not register before 8:45 am on the day of the tournament may be excluded from it!

The day of the tournament

Friday:

The games in pools will begin at 2 pm sharp. The best of each group continues the tournament through qualifying matches.

The singles tournament ends no later than 7 pm. The medal ceremony will be held on Saturday at around 6 pm.

Saturday:

The day begins at 9 am with a group warm up session with our fitness trainer. Then, we play games in pools. All teams of a subgroup play against all other teams within a pool of 5 to 7 teams. This allows each team to be ensured to play a minimum number of matches - because ultimately, we come to play, right? The best teams from each pool will continue the tournament through qualifying matches. If you win, you stay, and if you lose you can go directly to the third half :-)

The medal ceremony is scheduled after the last finals for both singles and doubles at around 6 pm.

Then, we have booked the swimming pool of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel – VUB (boulevard du Triomphe 1, entrance number 8, 1050 Brussels/Ixelles) just for you, for an entertaining session of 'cool down' with athletes from other disciplines. Fun provided between 6:30 and 7:30 pm!
